At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 15,243,100 shares in 873 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 475,855,134.00, were traded.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.24 trillion.

In the aggregate, 47 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 20 gainers and 15 losers.

Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] led the gainers with ✅10.00% share price appreciation closing at KES 2.20 per share, followed by:

✅Liberty Kenya Holdings Plc [LBTY] (+8.7%)
✅Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (+7.5%)
✅East African Portland Cement Company [PORT] (+7.32%).

On the losing side, Car and General Kenya Plc [CGEN] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?10.00% at KES 22.50 per share, followed by:

?Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] (-3.83%)
? Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (-3.33%)
? Williamson Tea Kenya Plc [WTK] (-2.78%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 4.4 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (2.5m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.88m)
➖I&M Holdings Plc [IMH] (1.87m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅1.54 points to close at 149.06

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅1.17 points to close at 1812.00

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅23.13 points to close at 3315.26

The Derivatives Market had 5 contracts worth Kes.185,000 transacted in today’s trading session. Five KCB contracts worth Kes.185,000 expiring in 18th March 2021 were concluded at a price of Kes.37.00. This is against an end of day price of Kes.36.90 posted in the spot market

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted an exponential rise in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 6.94 billion traded in 112 deals during today’s session as compared to the Kes 3.72 Billion achieved in 72 deals during the previous trading session.
