At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) [May-28-2020],

A total of 14,358,000 shares in 1,066 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 392,960,652.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, May 27), today’s data shows 12% decline in volume, 20% decline in turnover, and 19% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.07 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 17 ✅ gainers and 18 ? losers.

Crown Paints Plc [CRWN] led the gainers with ✅ 10% share price appreciation closing at KES 49.50 per share, followed by;

✅Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (+9.68%)
✅Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (+6.38%)
✅Flame Tree Group Holdings Plc [FTGH] (+4.76%).

On the losing side, Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?9.63% closing at KES 2.44 per share, followed by;

?Nairobi Securities Exchange [NSE] (-4.23%)
?STANLIB Fahari Income REIT [FAHR] (-3.94%)
?Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (-2.75%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM]recorded the highest volume of 8 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (781,900).

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ?8.31 points to close at 3214.83

The derivatives market of the NSE had one equity single stock futures contract concluded at a price of Kes 3, 550. This was against the spot market price of Kes 39.90.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange was relatively constant with bonds worth Kes 3.08 Billion achieved in 127 deals on the market as compared to 3.46 Billion recorded in the previous trading session.
