A total of 13,213,000 shares in 1,025 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 395,410,780.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, July 12), today’s data shows 27% improvement in volume, 6% improvement in turnover, but 9% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.65 trillion.

In the aggregate, 49 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 24 ✅gainers and 15? losers.

Express Kenya Plc [XPRS] led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at✅ KES 4.40 per share, followed by:

✅ Eaagads Plc [EGAD] (+9.26%)
✅Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (+9%)
✅ Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] (+7.69%).

On the losing side, Standard Group Plc [SGL] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?10% at KES 17.10 per share, followed by:

? TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] (-6%)
? Nairobi Business Ventures[NBV] (-4%)
?Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (-3.85%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 6 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.52m)
➖ Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation [KNRE] (1.33m)
➖KenGen Plc [KEGN] (899,500)

➡️The benchmarks NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained✅0.40 points to close at 174.84
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅9.48  points to close at 1953.37
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅ 7.31 points to close at 3844.58

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity during Today’s trading session, with 25 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 850,160 concluded, compared to the 27 contracts valued at Kes 493,670 concluded on the previous session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 5.63 billion transacted in 125 deals as compared to the Kes 7.66 billion worth of bonds achieved in 175 deals in the preceding session.

Market Outlook

Safaricom represented 63.45% of today’s trading value at the bourse moving Kes 6 million shares valued at Kes 250 Million which were trading at Kes 40.70 and Kes 41.50
