Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, August 12), today’s data shows 26% decline in volume, 19% improvement in turnover, and 8% improvement in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.75 trillion.

In the aggregate, 48 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 21✅ gainers and 15🔻 losers.

Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] led the gainers with 8.05% share price appreciation closing at✅ KES 38.25 per share, followed by:

✅Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] (+5.06%)
✅Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+4.17%)
✅ Eveready E.A Plc [EVRD] (+4.17%).

On the losing side, Unga Group Plc [UNGA] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 🔻6.29% at KES 29.05 per share, followed by:

🔻 Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-5.26%)
🔻Williamson Tea Kenya Plc [WTK] (-4.56%)
🔻 Sasini Plc [SASN] (-3.26%).

Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation [KNRE] recorded the highest volume of 10.5 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Co-operative Bank of Kenya [COOP] (5.36m)
➖Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] (4.57m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (915,400)

➡️The benchmark All-Share Index [NASI] gained ✅0.51 points to close at 181.18
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅ 8.79 points to close at 1961.07
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅16.91 points to close at 3950.14

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

There were no derivatives traded during today’s session on the derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in activity during today’s trading with bonds worth Kes 3.36 billion transacted in 74 deals as compared to the Kes 3.57 billion worth of bonds achieved in 73 deals traded at the close of trading yesterday.
