Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, November 18), today’s data shows 193% improvement in volume, 150% improvement in turnover, and 41% improvement in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.56 trillion.

In the aggregate, 47 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 23✅ gainers and 15🔻 losers.

Car and General Plc [CGEN] led the gainers with✅ 7.9% share price appreciation closing at KES 35.50 per share, followed by:

✅ Standard Group Plc [SGL] (+5.44%)
✅Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (+5.26%)
✅ Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (+5.17%).

On the losing side, Eveready E. A Plc [EVRD] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 🔻9.18% at KES 0.89 per share, followed by

🔻 Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (-7.07%)
🔻 Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (-2.84%)
🔻 Williamson Tea Kenya Plc [WTK] (-2.55%)

Safaricom Plc[SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 16.4 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (5.07m)
➖ KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.91m)
➖Co-operative Bank of Kenya [COOP] (1.56m)

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] declined🔻 1.07 points to close at 168.43
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅ 3.06 points to close at 1893.65
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined🔻13.38 points to close at 3732.47

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE.

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a slump in activity with 2 single stock features valued at Kes 79,720 traded during today’s trading session compared to the 3 single stock features valued at Kes 129,420 traded during the previous trading session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in turnover during Today’s trading session, with bonds valued at Kes 2.44 billion transacted in 85 deals compared to the Kes 3.22 billion worth of bonds achieved in 118 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.
