At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 22,450,900 shares in 1,219 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 439,440,035.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, May 13), today’s data shows 10% decline in volume, 30% decline in turnover, and 20% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.04 trillion.

In the aggregate, 44 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 12 ✅gainers and 26 ?losers.

Kapchorua Tea Company Plc [KAPC] led the gainers with ✅9.72% share price appreciation closing at KES 79.00 per share, followed by:

✅Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] (+9.58%)
✅Umeme Limited [UMME] (+5.75%)
✅STANLIB Fahari Income REIT [FAHR] (+4.75%).

On the losing side, Sasini Plc [SASN] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.33% closing at KES 14.85 per share, followed by:

?Longhorn Publishers Plc [LKL] (-7.80%)
?Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (-6.13%)
?KCB Group Plc [KCB] (-5.53%).

Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] recorded the highest volume of 11 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Safaricom Plc [SCOM] (4.75m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.67m)
➖NCBA Group Plc [NCBA] (1.06m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined ?3.18 points to close at 134.19

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ? 26.26 points to close at 1970.02

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ?81.79 points to close at 3168.62

The NSE’s derivatives market had 8 contracts worth Kes 246, 500 concluded in today’s trading session.

Secondary trading on the bond market at the Nairobi Securities Exchange was relatively constant with bonds worth Kes 1.86 Billion trading in 80 deals, as compared to yesterday’s turnover of Kes 1.80 Billion which was achieved in 97 deals.
