At the end of the last weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) this week.

A total of 15,139,200 shares in 979 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 398,622,399.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, September 10), today’s data shows 65% decline in volume, 67% decline in turnover, but 2% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.12 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 19 ✅gainers and 17 ?losers.

Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] led the gainers with ✅6.40% share price appreciation closing at KES 7.98 per share, followed by:

✅Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (+5.92%)
✅Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (+4.92%)
✅CIC Insurance Group Plc [CIC] (+4.9%).

On the losing side, Kapchorua Tea Company Plc [KAPC] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.54% closing at KES 75.00 per share, followed by:

?Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-7.5%)
? WPP ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] (-5.1%)
?Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (-4.17%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 6.1 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (3.43m)
➖Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] (1.32m)
➖Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (935,500).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅0.59 points to close at 140.87

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅3.85 points to close at 1875.69

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅18.85 points to close at 3260.66

There were no contracts concluded in today’s trading session on the derivatives market.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a modest rise in activity during today’s session with bonds worth Kes 3.32 billion transacted in 96 deals in as compared to the Kes 4.58 billion achieved in 64 deals posted in Wednesday’s trading session
