At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 16,384,300 shares in 844 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 587,900,957.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, November 10), today’s data shows 19% decline in volume, 42% improvement in turnover, but 6% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.17 trillion.

In the aggregate, 48 NSE listed securities participated in trading, ending with 19 ✅gainers and 19 ?losers.

BOC Kenya Plc [BOC] led the gainers with ✅6.19% share price appreciation closing at KES 60.00 per share, followed by:

✅Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] (+5.33%)
✅East African Breweries Plc [EABL] (+4.98%)
✅Nation Media Group Plc [NMG] (+4.83%).

On the losing side, Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?7.49% closing at KES 22.85 per share, followed by:

?Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (-6.67%)
?Car and General (Kenya) Plc [CGEN] (-4.35%)
?Liberty Kenya Holdings Plc [LBTY] (-4.00%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 8.4 million traded shares, followed by:

➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.99m)
➖Kengen Plc [KEGN] (1.82m)
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (1.03m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅3.19 points to close at 144.10

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅22.35 points to close at 1791.38

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅71.01 points to close at 3282.12

The derivatives market of the NSE posted an exponential rise in activity with 11 contracts valued at Kes 375,720 concluded. This was against the 1 contract valued at Kes 34,570 transacted in the previous trading session.

Trading on the secondary bond market at the NSE recorded a decline in activity with bonds worth Kes 1.47 billion transacted in 49 deals on the Fixed income segment as compared to the 2.55 billion worth of bonds transacted during the Tuesdays‘ trading session.
