At the end of the first weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) this week.

A total of 14,156,000 shares in 716 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 464,414,089.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Friday, December 6), today’s data shows 7% improvement in volume, 12% decline in turnover, and 12% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.43 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 11 ✅gainers and 27 ?losers.

HF Group Plc [HFCK] led the gainers with ✅8.33% share price appreciation closing at KES 5.98 per share, followed by:

✅Eaagads Limited [EGAD] (+5.14%)
✅Standard Chartered Bank-Kenya [SCBK] (+2.56%)
✅Kapchorua Plc [KAPC] (+2.39%).

On the losing side, Olympia Capital Holdings came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.33% closing at KES 2.20 per share, followed by:

?Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-7.27%)
?East African Cables Plc [CABL] (-5.58%)
?Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (-5.13%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 8.8 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.67m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.54m)
➖Barclays Bank of Kenya [BBK] (683,100).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] dropped ?-0.30 points to close at 159.99

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index dropped ?12.77 points to close at 2608.78

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index dropped ?-27.04 points to close at 3938.43

The Derivatives Market had no activity in today’s trading session.

The NSE bond market had 40 deals worth Kes 779.2 Million a rise in value from Friday’s 46 deals valued at Kes 653.3 Million
