At the end of the last weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) this week. [22-Nov-19]

A total of 23,212,500 shares in 796 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 744,057,466.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, November 21), today’s data shows 34% improvement in volume, 7% improvement in turnover, and 15% improvement in deals. The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.35 trillion.

In the aggregate, 44 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 16 ✅gainers and 20 ?losers.

Trans Century Plc [TCL]led the gainers with ✅9.76% share price appreciation closing at KES 2.70 per share, followed by:

✅EvereadyPlc [EVRD] (+5.00%)
✅Longhorn Publishers Plc [LKL] (+2.92%)
✅WPP ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] (+2.73%).

On the losing side, Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?-8.57% closing at KES 0.32 per share, followed by:

?Sasini Plc [SASN] (-8.15%)
?Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] (-7.99%)
?East African Cables Plc [CABL] (-6.16%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 13.3 million traded shares, followed by:

➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.89m)
➖Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (1.19m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] dropped ?-0.16 points to close at 154.84

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index dropped ?-5.22 points to close at 2618.75

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅0.31 points to close at 3842.81

The Derivatives Market had no activity today.

The NSE bond market had 166 deals worth Kes 2.26 Billion an increase in value from yesterday’s 123 deals valued at Kes 1.74 Billion
