A total of 35,760,700 shares in 1,016 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 1,347,748,767.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Friday, May 7), today’s data shows 25% improvement in volume, 34% improvement in turnover, but 11% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.59 trillion.

In the aggregate, 44 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 24✅ gainers and 13? losers.

Crown Paints Plc [CRWN] led the gainers with 8.89% share price appreciation closing at✅ KES 39.20 per share, followed by:

✅ HF Group Plc [HFCK] (+8.7%)
✅TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] (+8.11%)
✅Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (+5.03%).

On the losing side, WPP ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 7.21% at KES 5.66 per share, followed by:

?Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (-4%)
?Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-2.5%)
? CIC Insurance Plc [CIC] (-2.3%).

KCB Group Plc [KCB] recorded the highest volume of 13.9 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (11.7m)
➖Safaricom Plc [SCOM] (3.93m)
➖Centum Investment Plc [CTUM] (2.75m)

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 0.36 points to close at 171.45
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅ 4.03 points to close at 1866.53
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅ 9.63 points to close at 3735.35

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted an increase in activity during today’s trading session, with 28 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 1.14 million concluded, compared to the 32 SSF contracts valued at Kes 1.05  million concluded during the previous session

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 8.34 billion transacted in 107 deals as compared to the Kes 3.23 billion worth of bonds achieved in 78 deals in the preceding session.
