A total of 22,385,500 shares in 1,030 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 906,173,194.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, May 10), today’s data shows 37% decline in volume, 33% decline in turnover, but 1% improvement in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.56 trillion.

In the aggregate, 44 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 20✅ gainers and 15? losers.

Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] led the gainers with 7.69% share price appreciation closing at✅ KES 0.42 per share, followed by:

✅TransCentury Plc [TCL] (+6.19%)
✅Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+4.17%)
✅Longhorn Publishers Plc [LKL] (+2.75%).

On the losing side, I&M Holdings Plc [IMH] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 41.67% at KES 24.85 per share, followed by:

?East African Cables Plc [CABL] (-3.85%)
?Nation Media Group Plc [NMG] (-3.53%)
?Carbacid Plc [CARB] (-2.24%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 12.1 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (4.87m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (2.47m)
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (894,000)

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined?2.50 points to close at 168.95
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined? 3.69 points to close at 1862.84
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined? 104.32 points to close at 3631.03

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in activity during today’s trading session, with 14 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 599,065 concluded, compared to the 28 SSF contracts valued at Kes 1.14  million concluded during the previous session

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 6.83  billion transacted in 122 deals as compared to the Kes 8.34 billion worth of bonds achieved in 107 deals in the preceding session.
