At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange 

A total of 17,839,700 shares in 886 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 856,560,344.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Friday, October 8), today’s data shows 34% decline in volume, 15% decline in turnover, and 36% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.67 trillion.

In the aggregate, 44 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 14✅ gainers and 21🔻 losers.

Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] led the gainers with✅ 8.97% share price appreciation closing at KES 6.32 per share, followed by:

✅ Sasini Plc [SASN] (+4.47%)
✅ Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+4.35%)
✅ E.A Portland Plc [PORT] (+3.8%).

On the losing side, Eveready E. A Plc [EVRD] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of🔻 7.89% at KES 1.05 per share, followed by :

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity with 12 single stock features valued at Kes 446,730 traded during today’s trading session compared to the 26 single stock features valued at Kes  829,120 traded during the previous trading session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity during Monday’s trading session, with bonds valued at Kes 3.20 billion transacted in 83 deals compared to the Kes 1.61 billion worth of bonds achieved in 71 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.
