A total of 12,451,800 shares in 1,579 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 445,915,853.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, September 14), today’s data shows 30% decline in volume, 18% decline in turnover, but 30% improvement in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.73 trillion.

In the aggregate, 48 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 17✅ gainers and 21🔻 losers.

Limuru Tea Plc [LIMT] led the gainers with ✅9.38% share price appreciation closing at KES 350.00 per share, followed by:

✅ Eveready E. A Plc [EVRD] (+8.51%)
✅ East African Cables Plc [CABL](+4.73%)
✅ Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (+3.33%).

On the losing side, Standard Group Plc [SGL] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.32% at🔻 KES 16.05 per share, followed by:

🔻Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (-8.33%)
🔻Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (-5.9%)
🔻 KenGen Plc [KEGN] (-5.27%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 6.2 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ Co-operative Bank of Kenya [COOP] (2.58m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (848,400)
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (405,900)

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] declined🔻 0.42 points to close at 179.81
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined🔻12.75 points to close at 2046.58
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined🔻10.51 points to close at 3949.56

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity with 12 single stock features valued at Kes 589,300 traded during today’s trading session compared to the 23 single stock features valued at Kes 280,710 traded during the previous trading session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in today’s trading session, with bonds valued at Kes 7.98 billion transacted in 209 deals compared to the Kes 14.95 billion worth of bonds achieved in 89 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.
