At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 8,857,100 shares in 853 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 331,632,324.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, December 21), today’s data shows 31% improvement in volume, 44% improvement in turnover, and 6% improvement in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.53 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 22 gainers and 12 losers.

Williamson Tea Kenya Plc [WTK] led the gainers with✅ 7.36% share price appreciation closing at KES 138.50 per share, followed by;

✅BK Group Plc [BKG] (+4.56%),
✅Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] [ (+4.45%)
✅HF Group Plc [HFCK] (+4.34%).

On the losing side, Nation Media Group Plc [NMG] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 🔻9.75% at KES 18.05 per share, followed by;

🔻Express Kenya Plc [EXRPS] (-7.23%),
🔻Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (-6.96%)
🔻Jubilee Holdings Plc [JUB] (-5.56%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 5.16 million traded shares, followed by;
➖Centum Investment Company Plc [CTUM] (935,400),
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY](612,700) and
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (339,000).

The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 1.87 points to close at 166.79
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅ 1.58 points to close at 1872.60
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅28.19 points to close at 3698.61

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE.

Trading on the secondary bond market increased on the Nairobi Securities Exchange compared to Thursday’s trading, with bonds valued at Kes 4.19 billion transacted in 84 deals compared to the Kes 4.0 billion worth of bonds achieved in 84 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.

There were no futures contracts traded in the derivatives segment on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.
