At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange

A total of 20,957,300 shares in 1,072 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 799,404,479.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, September 21), today’s data shows 23% improvement in volume, 26% decline in turnover, and 8% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.71 trillion.

In the aggregate, 49 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 17✅ gainers and 18🔻 losers.

Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] led the gainers with✅ 4.35% share price appreciation closing at KES 0.24 per share, followed by:

✅Carbacid Plc [CARB] (+3.93%)
✅ WPP ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] (+3.85%).

On the losing side, TransCentury Plc [TCL] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of🔻 7.14% at KES 1.30 per share, followed by:

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity with 26 single stock features valued at Kes 1.21 million traded during today’s trading session compared to the 25 single stock features valued at Kes 961,220 traded during the previous trading session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in today’s trading session, with bonds valued at Kes 8.32 billion transacted in 252 deals compared to the Kes 7.80 billion worth of bonds achieved in 129 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.
