The NSE Major Indices closed on the red.

At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange

A total of 39,505,200 shares in 1,284 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 1,522,818,731.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, November 24), today’s data shows 26% improvement in volume, 59% improvement in turnover, and 31% improvement in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.46 trillion.

In the aggregate, 44 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 17✅ gainers and 16 🔻losers.

CIC Insurance Plc [CIC] led the gainers with 9% share price appreciation closing at✅ KES 2.18 per share, followed by:

✅East African Cables Plc [CABL] (+7.5%)
✅ Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] (+6.57%)
✅ Umeme Limited [UMME] (+6.15%).

On the losing side, HF Group Plc [HFCK] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 🔻7.17% at KES 4.14 per share, followed by:

🔻 Express Kenya Plc [XPRS] (-6.17%)
🔻Nation Media Group Plc [NMG] (-3.62%)
🔻 Sanlam Kenya Plc [SLAM] (-3.51%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM]recorded the highest volume of 24.9 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (6.43m)
➖ KCB Group Plc [KCB] (3.37m)
➖ KenGen Plc [KEGN] (1.55m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 0.30 points to close at 162.14
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅4.96 points to close at 1871.93
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅ 4.67 points to close at 3635.00

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE.

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a slump in activity with 3 single stock features valued at Kes 134,730 traded during today’s trading session compared to the 40 single stock features valued at Kes 1.59 milliontraded during the previous trading session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in turnover during Today’s trading session, with bonds valued at Kes 4.88 billion transacted in 102 deals compared to the Kes 1.85 billion worth of bonds achieved in 86 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.
