At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE),

A total of 10,170,800 shares in 991 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 361,076,485.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, January 25), today’s data shows 12% decline in volume, 13% decline in turnover, and 10% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.49 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 16 gainers and 21 losers.

Williamson Tea Kenya Plc [WTK] led the gainers with ✅5.38% share price appreciation closing at KES 137.00 per share, followed by;

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted an increase in activity, compared to Tuesday’s trading, with bonds valued at Kes 3.48 billion transacted in 98 deals compared to the Kes 2.39 billion worth of bonds achieved in 79 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange saw an decline in activity in today’s trading session compared to Tuesday’s trading with 10 single stock futures valued at Kes 365,000 as compared to the 38 single stock futures valued at Kes 1,453,860 traded during the previous trading session.
