At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange

A total of 12,202,100 shares in 1,215 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 427,327,149.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, July 26), today’s data shows 211% improvement in volume, 436% improvement in turnover, and 13% improvement in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.69 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 23✅ gainers and 17 ?losers.

Kakuzi Plc [KUKZ] led the gainers with✅ 9.99% share price appreciation closing at KES 410.00 per share, followed b:

✅Crown Paints Plc [CRWN] (+8.15%)
✅ Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (+7.47%)
✅ Britam HoldingsPlc[BRIT] (+3.91%).

On the losing side, Centum Investment Plc [CTUM] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.24% at KES 16.15 per share, followed by:

?Nairobi Business Ventures[NBV] (-7.11%)
?East African Cables Plc [CABL] (-4.32%)
?BOCGases Kenya Plc [BOC] (-4.09%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 3.43 million traded shares, followed by

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity during Today’s trading session, with 20 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 371,150 concluded, compared to the 21 contracts valued at Kes 211,950 concluded on the previous session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 2.73 billion transacted in 55 deals as compared to the Kes 5.4 billion worth of bonds achieved in  46 deals in the preceding session.
