At the end of the first weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange 

A total of 23,949,600 shares in 1,181 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 645,628,212.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Friday, November 26), today’s data shows 65% decline in volume, 74% decline in turnover, and 3% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.5 trillion.

In the aggregate, 47 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 21 ✅gainers and 22 🔻losers.

Sanlam Kenya Plc [SLAM] led the gainers with✅ 7.73% share price appreciation closing at✅ KES 11.85 per share, followed by :

✅Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV](+7.39%)
✅ Eveready E. A Plc [EVRD]+4.55%)
✅ Centum Investment Plc [CTUM] (+3.34%).

On the losing side, Carbacid Plc [CARB] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of🔻 9.69% at KES 11.65 per share, followed by:

🔻 Uchumi Supermarket Plc [UCHM] (-8.7%)
🔻 Car and General Plc [CGEN] (-8.59%)
🔻 E. A Portland Plc [PORT] (-7.89%).

Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] recorded the highest volume of 10.9 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ Safaricom Plc [SCOM](8.98m)
➖ Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (1.09m)
➖ Stanbic Holdings Plc [SBIC] (983,800).

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a rise in activity with 5 single stock features valued at Kes 248,500 traded during today’s trading session compared to the 2 single stock features valued at Kes 56,430 traded during the previous trading session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in turnover during Today’s trading session, with bonds valued at Kes 1.82 billion transacted in 67 deals compared to the Kes 5.57 billion worth of bonds achieved in 130 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.
