A total of 8,826,100 shares in 1,289 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 491,316,926.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, September 28), today’s data shows 38% decline in volume, 259% improvement in turnover, and 38% improvement in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.69 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 7✅ gainers and 25🔻 losers.

Eveready E.A Plc [EVRD] led the gainers with 4.81% share price appreciation closing at ✅KES 1.09 per share, followed by:

✅ Carbacid Plc [CARB] (+4.37%)
✅CIC Insurance Plc [CIC] (+2.05%)
✅ Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (+0.58%).

On the losing side, Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc [NSE] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 🔻6.42% at KES 9.04 per share, followed by:

🔻 Limuru Tea Plc [LIMT] (-6.25%)
🔻 Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (-6%)
🔻 Eaagads Plc [EGAD] (-5.8%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 3.5 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ East African Breweries Plc [EABL] (1.62m)
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (1.13m)
➖ Co-operative Bank of Kenya [COOP] (470,300).

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] declined🔻 0.16 to close at 177.04
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined🔻 17.67 points to close at 2030.15
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined🔻 14.72 points to close at 3895.96

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in activity with 13 single stock features valued at Kes 483,450 traded during today’s trading session compared to the 16 single stock features valued at Kes 646,750 traded during the previous trading session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in today’s trading session, with bonds valued at Kes 9.13 billion transacted in 182 deals compared to the Kes 5.28 billion worth of bonds achieved in 166 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.
