At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 25,215,800 shares in 1,160 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 603,680,240.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Friday, May 29), today’s data shows 31% decline in volume, 33% decline in turnover, and 32% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.09 trillion.

In the aggregate, 47 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 22 ✅gainers and 17? losers.

Eveready Plc [EVRD] led the gainers with ✅10.00% share price appreciation closing at KES 1.10 per share, followed by:

✅Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+10.00%)
✅Umeme Limited [UMME] (+9.72%)
✅Flame Tree Group Holdings [FTGH] (+7.69%).

On the losing side, Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?9.95% at KES 1.99 per share, followed by:

?Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc [NSE] (-7.59%)
?Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (-7.53%)
?Sasini Plc [SASN] (-6.57%).

Safaricom Plc [SASN] recorded the highest volume of 13.2 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (3.58m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (2.25m)
➖Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] (2.24m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅0.47 points to close at 137.60

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ?16.78 points to close at 1931.29

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ?1.66 points to close at 3202.28

There were no contracts concluded on the derivatives market of the NSE in today’s trading session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a slump in activity with bonds worth Kes 0.756 Billion achieved in 58 deals on the market as compared to the Kes 4.71 Billion achieved in 103 deals recorded in the previous trading session.
