At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE),

a total of 12,916,400 shares in 985 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 327,432,491.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, July 27), today’s data shows 22% decline in volume, 38% decline in turnover, but 5% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.02 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 20 ✅ gainers and 19 🔻 losers.

Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] led the gainers with ✅ 9.09% share price appreciation closing at KES 0.48 per share, followed by;

✅Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] (+7.31%),
✅Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA](+3.77%)
✅Stanbic Holdings Plc [SBIC] (+3.75%).

On the losing side, Sanlam Kenya Plc [SLAM] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 🔻7.14% closing at KES 13.00 per share, followed by;

🔻Trans Century Plc [TCL](-4.69%),
🔻Standard Group Plc [SGL] (-4.35%)
🔻Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] (-4.18%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 3 million traded shares, followed by;

➖I&M Holdings Plc [IMH] (1.92m),
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.91m)
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (1.18m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI]declined 🔻2.57 points to close at 134.80

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅5.01 points to close at 1879.34

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined 🔻30.36 points to close at 3111.87

There were no contracts concluded in today’s trading session on the NSE derivatives market.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange soared in activity during today’s session with bonds worth Kes 6.2 Billion achieved in 113 deals in today’s session as compared to the Kes 1.42 Billion achieved in 74 deals during the previous trading session.
