At the end of the last weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE),

A total of 39,564,600 shares in 2,235 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 731,435,529.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, July 9), today’s data shows 16% decline in volume, 43% decline in turnover, but 58% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 1.99 trillion.

In the aggregate, 41 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 12 ✅gainers and 19 ?losers.

Trans Century Plc [TLC] led the gainers with ✅9.66% share price appreciation closing at KES 1.93 per share, followed by

✅Longhorn Publishers Plc [LKL] (+8.65%),
✅Centum Investment Company Plc [CTUM](+5.64%)
✅CIC Insurance Group Plc [CIC] (+3.21%).

On the losing side, Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.06% closing at KES 0.57 per share, followed by;

?Express Kenya Plc [XPRS] (-7.83%),
?Flame Tree Group Holdings [FTGH] (-6.62%)
?Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] (-5.71%).

Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation Ltd [KNRE]recorded the highest volume of 15 million traded shares, followed by;

➖Safaricom Plc [SCOM] (12.79m),
➖CIC Insurance Group Plc [CIC](3.1m)
➖Trans Century Plc [TCL] (1.57m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined ? 0.13 points to close at 132.38

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ?6.53 points to close at 1901.28

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ?2.18 points to close at 3092.01

There were no contracts concluded on the derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange. The market closed with 93 open interest positions.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity with bonds worth Kes 1.26 Billion achieved in 52 deals on the market as compared to the Kes 2.68  Billion achieved in 88 deals during the previous trading session.
