At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 16,371,800 shares in 1,312 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 490,744,450.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, May 26), today’s data shows 10% decline in volume, 17% decline in turnover, but 1% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.09 trillion.

In the aggregate, 48 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 12 ✅gainers and 27 ?losers.

Flame Tree Group Holdings [FTGH] led the gainers with ✅9.38% share price appreciation closing at KES 1.05 per share, followed by:

✅Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (+4.82%)
✅TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] (Serena) (+3.20%)
✅CIC Insurance Group Plc [CIC] (+2.97%).

On the losing side, Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?21.97% closing at KES 2.70 per share, followed by:

?Standard Group Plc [SGL] (-5.00%),
?East African Cables Plc [CABL] (-4.74%)
?STANLIB Fahari Income REIT [FAHR] (-4.62%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 5.6 million traded shares, followed by:

➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (4.11m)
➖Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] (1.79m)
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (1.06m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined ?1.13 points to close at 137.81

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ?33.10 points to close at 1976.50

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ?21.71 points to close at 3222.96

The derivatives market of the NSE had no activity in today’s session. This is against the two contracts worth Kes 72,250  traded in the previous session.

Activity on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange soared, with bonds worth Kes 3.46 Billion achieved in 124 deals on the market as compared to 2.48 Billion recorded in the previous trading session.
