At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE),

A total of 15,944,000 shares in 704 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 386,658,260.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, August 18), today’s data shows 9% decline in volume, 11% improvement in turnover, but 25% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 1.96 trillion.

In the aggregate, 40 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 17 ✅gainers and 15 ?losers

Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] led the gainers with a ✅10.00% share price appreciation closing at KES 0.66 per share, followed by:

✅Liberty Kenya Holdings[LBTY] (+8.03%)
✅Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+6.90%)
✅East African Cables Plc [CABL] (+5.29%).

On the losing side, Williamson Tea Kenya Plc [WTK] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.16% closing at KES 132.25 per share, followed by:

?Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (-7.14%)
?Flame Tree Group Holdings[FTGH] (-6.02%)
?HF Group Plc [HFCK] (-6.00%)

KCB Group Plc [KCB] recorded the highest volume of 6.9 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ Safaricom Plc [SCOM] (3.1m),
➖ Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc [NSE] (1.6m)
➖ Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.19m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅0.34 points to close at 130.85

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅2.87 points to close at 1732.34

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅19.99 points to close at 2991.56

The derivatives market of the NSE no contracts concluded during today’s trading session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded quite a further slump in activity during today’s session with bonds worth Kes 451.73 million transacted in 78 deals in as compared to the Kes 914.0 million achieved in 67 deals during the Tuesday’s trading session
