Elijah Wachira; CIC'S Acting Chief Executive Officer

CIC Insurance Group Plc has appointed Elijah Wachira as the group’s CEO in acting capacity after the Group CEO Mr. Tom Gitogo opted for early retirement yesterday.

Tom Gitogo leaves CIC Group after 5years of service and was previously was Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director at Sanlam Kenya Plc, Finance Director at British American Insurance Company now Britam; and Chairman for Life Insurance Council in Kenya.

Until his appointment, Elijah who joined CIC in 2015 has been the Managing Director General Insurance division. He holds an MBA in Strategy and Marketing from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Arts from Egerton University and a member of Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) of London and Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK). He brings on board wealth of experience in general insurance business in both Kenya and the East African Region. He is specialized in strategy formulation and implementation.
