Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, April 7), today’s data shows 15% decline in volume, 30% decline in turnover, and 13% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 1.99 trillion.

In the aggregate, 41 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 8 ✅gainers and 20 ?losers.

Longhorn Publishers Plc [LKL] led the gainers with ✅5.16% share price appreciation closing at KES 4.89 per share, followed by:

✅Trans Century Plc [TCL] (+3.33%)
✅Sasini Plc [SASN] (+1.23%)
✅Co-operative Bank of Kenya [COOP] (+1.21%).

On the losing side, Unga Group Plc [UNGA] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?10.00% at KES 26.10 per share, followed by:

?CIC Insurance Group Plc [CIC] (-7.46%)
?Flame Tree Group Holdings [FTGH] (-6.09%)
?BOC Kenya Plc [BOC] (-5.14%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 13.2 million traded shares, followed by:

➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.06m).

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange [NEXT] had 2 contracts valued at Kes 39,650 traded in today’s trading session, a decline in turnover from yesterday’s 2 contract valued at Kes. 53,800.

Trading activities on secondary Bond market at the Nairobi Securities Exchange edged higher, closing the day with bonds worth Kes 1.12 Billion trading in 118 deals, as compared to yesterday’s turnover of Kes Kes 461.4 Million which was achieved in 135 deals.
