At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).
A total of 29,805,100 shares in 887 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 773,816,976.00, were traded.
Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, March 9), today’s data shows 21% decline in volume, 36% decline in turnover, and 25% decline in deals.
The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.26 trillion.
In the aggregate, 43 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 10 ✅gainers and 30 ?losers.
Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] led the gainers with ✅7.50% share price appreciation closing at KES 0.43 per share, followed by:
✅East African Cables Plc [CABL] (+3.83%)
✅Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+3.45%)
✅KCB Group Plc [KCB] (+2.36%).
On the losing side, Stanbic Holdings Plc [SBIC] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.78% closing at KES 106.50 per share, followed by:
?Liberty Kenya Holdings Plc [LBTY] (-8.51%)
?Unga Group Plc [UNGA] (-7.69%)
?Umeme Limited [UMME] (-6.16%).
Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 21.3 million traded shares, followed by:

The Derivatives Market recorded no activity in today’s session, down from the two Safaricom Contracts of Kes 5,800 in today’s traded yesterday.
The secondary Bond market at the NSE recorded a decline in activity in today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 3.83 Billion traded in 197 deals on the Fixed income segment as compared to yesterday’s 69 deals valued at Kes 4.59 Billion.
