At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 39,775,600 shares in 1,381 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 1,008,081,877.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, March 23), today’s data shows 117% improvement in volume, 121% improvement in turnover, and 12% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 1.89 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 6 ✅gainers and 32 ?losers.

Centum Investment Company Plc [CTUM] led the gainers with ✅9.88% share price appreciation closing at KES 22.25 per share, followed by:

✅Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] (+6.85%)
✅Standard Group Plc [SGL] (+6.19%)
✅Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (+5.00%).

On the losing side, KCB Group Plc [KCB] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?9.48% closing at KES 33.90 per share, followed by:

?NCBA Group Plc [NCBA] (-9.22%)
?Jubilee Holdings Plc [JUB] (-9.09%)
?Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (-8.82%).

Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] recorded the highest volume of 15.1 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Safaricom Plc [SCOM] (7.51m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (5.3m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] dropped ?3.67 points to close at 124.54

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange [NEXT] had One Equity contract worth Kes.32, 000 expiring in 18th June 2020 concluded at a price of Kes.32.75. This is against an end of day price of Kes.32.55 posted in the spot market.

The secondary Bond market at the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a slight increase in turnover bonds worth 2.9 Billion trading in 102 deals, as compared to yesterday’s turnover of Kes 2.1 Billion which was achieved in 88 deals.
