Market Report 27 November, 2019.

At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 11,095,200 shares in 815 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 475,644,854.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, November 26), today’s data shows 16% decline in volume, 50% decline in turnover, but 2.00% improvement in deals. The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.37 trillion.

In the aggregate, 41 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 27 ✅gainers and ?9 losers.

Crown Paints Plc [CRWN] led the gainers with ✅9.68% share price appreciation closing at KES 68.00 per share, followed by:

✅Liberty Kenya Holdings Plc [LBTY] (+5.73%)
✅Kapchorua Plc [KAPC] (+4.17%)
✅Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (+3.61%).

On the losing side, Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?-9.32% closing at KES 2.53 per share, followed by:

?HF Group Plc [HFCK] (-5.52%)
?Longhorn Publishers Plc [LKL] (-4.36%)
?Kenya Power & Lighting Company [KPLC] (-4.06%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 4.3 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (2.3m)
➖East African Breweries Plc [EABL] (612,600)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (596,900).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅ 0.42points to close at 155.89

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index dropped ?-11.72 points to close at 2611.62

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅12.20 points to close at 3849.34

The Derivatives Market had 1 Safaricom contract expiring on 19th December, 2019 worth Kes. 28,500 transacted in today’s trading session.

The NSE bond market had 127 deals worth Kes 3.81 Billion a rise in value from yesterday’s 126 deals valued at Kes 2.49 Billion
