At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange 

A total of 25,772,600 shares in 923 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 896,793,858.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, October 5), today’s data shows 154% improvement in volume, 135% improvement in turnover, but 8% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.73 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 21✅ gainers and 17🔻 losers.

Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] led the gainers with✅ 9.18% share price appreciation closing at KES 6.90 per share, followed by:

✅ Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc [NSE] (+7.3%)
✅ Express Kenya Plc [XPRS](+4.51%)
✅ Trans Century Plc [TCL] (+4.51%).

On the losing side, Standard Group Plc [SGL] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 🔻7.47% at KES 16.10 per share, followed by;

🔻Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] (-6.98%)
🔻 Sasini Plc [SASN] (-4.26%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 13.2 million traded shares, followed by:

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange remained unchanged with 40 single stock features valued at Kes 1.80 million traded during today’s trading session compared to the 40  single stock features valued at Kes 1.80 million traded during the previous trading session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline during Thursday’s trading session, with bonds valued at Kes 3.08 billion transacted in 85 deals compared to the Kes 4.22 billion worth of bonds achieved in 88 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.
