At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange

A total of 13,078,700 shares in 989 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 467,179,903.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, July 5), today’s data shows 25% decline in volume, 41% improvement in turnover, but 6% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.64 trillion.

In the aggregate, 51 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 22✅ gainers and 18? losers.

Eaagads Plc [EGAD] led the gainers with 9.72% share price appreciation closing at✅ KES 11.85 per share, followed by:

✅ CIC Insurance Plc [CIC] (+8.85%)
✅Car and General Plc [CGEN] (+8.49%)
✅ Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc [NSE] (+6.83%).

On the losing side, Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 9.09% at KES 3.40 per share, followed by:

?Limuru Tea Plc [LIMT] (-6.25%)
?Carbacid Plc [CARB] (-4.76%)
?East African Cables Plc [CABL] (-3.08%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 8.9 million traded shares, followed by:

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a slump in activity during Today’s trading session, with 26 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 394,495 concluded, compared to the 49 contracts valued at Kes 1.40 million concluded on the previous session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 3.23 billion transacted in 82 deals as compared to the Kes 2.61 billion worth of bonds achieved in 69 deals in the preceding session.
