At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange 

A total of 11,049,600 shares in 1,378 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 328,708,061.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, September 7), today’s data shows 23% decline in volume, 15% decline in turnover, and 2% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.71 trillion.

In the aggregate, 51 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 25 ✅gainers and 16🔻 losers.

Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] led the gainers with 9.68% share price appreciation closing at✅ KES 1.70 per share, followed by:

✅Umeme Plc [UMME] (+4.76%)
✅Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+4%)
✅WPP ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] (+3.24%).

On the losing side, E. A Portland Plc [PORT] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of🔻 5.11% at KES 8.54 per share, followed by:

🔻 Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] (-3.02%)
🔻 Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] (-2.78%)
🔻 Stanbic Holdings Plc [SBIC](-1.92%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 5.01 million traded shares, followed by:

➖WPP ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] (2.03m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.09m)
➖ Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (767,500)

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 1.09 points to close at 178.74
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅13.46 points to close at 2066.46
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅ 16.20 points to close at 3909.72

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity with 38 single stock features valued at Kes 1.65 million traded during today’s trading session compared to the 33 single stock features valued at Kes 1.17 million traded during the previous trading session. 

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in today’s trading session, with bonds valued at Kes 2.10 billion transacted in 58 deals compared to the Kes 1.88 billion worth of bonds achieved in  47 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.
