At the end of the first weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange 

A total of 12,433,200 shares in 895 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 389,739,447.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Friday, October 15), today’s data shows 46% decline in volume, 60% decline in turnover, and 19% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.71 trillion.

In the aggregate, 47 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 14✅ gainers and 22🔻 losers.

Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] led the gainers with✅ 7.07% share price appreciation closing at ✅KES 6.36 per share, followed by :

✅Sasini Plc [SASN] (+4.99%)
✅KenGen Plc [KEGN] (+4.81%)
✅ Liberty Holdings Plc [LBTY] (+2.83%).

On the losing side, Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of🔻 5.13% at KES 0.37 per share, followed by:

🔻 Eveready E.A Plc [EVRD](-4.59%)
🔻 Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (-4.44%)

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 5.23 million traded shares, followed by:

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity with 36 single stock features valued at Kes 562,855 traded during today’s trading session compared to the 12 single stock features valued at Kes 1.21 million traded during the previous trading session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity during Today’s trading session, with bonds valued at Kes 5.74 billion transacted in 124 deals compared to the Kes 2.07 billion worth of bonds achieved in 87 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.
