At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange 

A total of 6,759,400 shares in 806 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 230,030,554.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, December 20), today’s data shows 48% decline in volume, 57% decline in turnover, and 4% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.5 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 17 gainers and 20 losers.

Limuru Tea Plc [LIMT] led the gainers with  9.84% share price appreciation closing at KES 335.00 per share, followed by :

✅Sasini Plc [SASN] (+8.13%)

✅East African Breweries Plc [EABL] (+7.12%)

✅ East African Cables Plc [CABL] (+6.61%).

On the losing side, Williamson Tea Plc [WTK] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 6.86% at  KES 129.00 per share, followed by :

🔻HF Group Plc [HFCK] (-6.82%)

🔻Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] (-4.53%)

🔻Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (-4%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 4.4 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (425,000)

➖Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] (298,100)

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY](205,600).

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 0.83 to close at 164.92
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅ 5.18 points to close at 1871.02
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅32.81 points to close at 3670.42

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE.

Trading on the secondary bond market increased slightly on the Nairobi Securities Exchange compared to Monday’s trading, with bonds valued at Kes 3.40 billion transacted in 84 deals compared to the Kes 1.33  billion worth of bonds achieved in 61 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.

There were 33  futures contracts valued at Kes 1.24  million traded in the derivatives segment on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.
