At the end of the last weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE),

A total of 10,327,800 shares in 803 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 270,257,638.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, January 20), today’s data shows 13% improvement in volume, 16% decline in turnover, but 4% improvement in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.56 trillion.

In the aggregate, 49 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 24 gainers and 19 losers.

Express Kenya Plc [XPRS] led the gainers with ✅10% share price appreciation closing at KES 4.07 per share, followed by;

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in activity, compared to Thursday’s trading, with bonds valued at Kes 0.82 billion transacted in 59 deals compared to the Kes 2.50 billion worth of bonds achieved in 75 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange saw an increase in activity in today’s trading session compared to Thursday’s trading with 6 single stock futures valued at Kes 215,980 as compared to the 4 single stock futures valued at Kes 174,050 traded during the previous trading session.
