At the end of the last weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 25,721,900 shares in 2,284 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 670,972,824.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, August 27), today’s data shows 27% improvement in volume, 36% improvement in turnover, and 111% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.08 trillion.

In the aggregate, 41 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 19 ✅gainers and 14 ?losers.

Nation Media Group Plc [NMG] led the gainers with ✅7.42% share price appreciation closing at KES 13.75 per share, followed by:

✅Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc [NSE] (+6.29%)
✅Stanbic Holdings Plc [SBIC] (+6.12%)
✅Flame Tree Group Holdings [FTGH] (+5.93%).

On the losing side, Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?9.09% closing at KES 0.30 per share, followed by:

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 11.7 million traded shares, followed by:

The derivatives market of the NSE recorded a slight decline in turnover during today’s trading session with 6 contracts valued at kes 191,500 as compared to Thursday’s trading session with 6 contracts valued at kes 195,370.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded an increase in activity during today’s session with bonds worth Kes 4.95 billion transacted in 142 deals in as compared to the Kes 3.11 billion achieved in 134 deals during the previous trading session.
