At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE),

A total of 38,631,900 shares in 1,282 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 686,713,131.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, August 4), today’s data shows 20% improvement in volume, 18% decline in turnover, but 16% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 1.9 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 8✅ gainers and 31 ?losers.

I&M Holdings Plc [IMH] led the gainers with✅ 3.89% share price appreciation closing at KES 46.75 per share, followed by;

✅NewGold Exchange Traded Fund [GLD] (+2.77%),
✅East African Breweries Plc [EABL](+1.97%)
✅Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT](+1.69%).

On the losing side, Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.75% closing at KES 25.55 per share, followed by;

?Trans Century Plc [TCL] (-8.49%),
?Nairobi Business Ventures Plc [NBV] (-7.69%)
?Diamond Trust Bank Kenya ([DTK]-6.16%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 22.6 million traded shares, followed by;

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (5.15m),
➖CIC Insurance Group Plc [CIC] (5.03m)
➖Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation [KNRE] (1.64m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined ?1.15 points to close at 127.01

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ?32.32 points to close at 1762.28

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ?17.86 points to close at 2955.77

The derivatives market of the NSE had 19 contracts valued at Kes 500,280 concluded in today’s trading session. This was against the 4 contracts valued at Kes 109,000 concluded in previous trading session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity during today’s session with bonds worth Kes 1.53 Billion achieved in 94 deals in today’s session as compared to the Kes 2.13 Billion achieved in 108 deals during the previous trading session.
